“for everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven”
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
Isn’t it interesting how God describes our lives to seasons. Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring. 🌸🌸🌸
There are definitely certain seasons that we enjoy more than others, but the same way in the natural world – each season serves a unique purpose, and each season has something wonderful about it that can only be experienced within that season. It’s the same with our lives. Yes, there’s seasons we enjoy more than others but each season in our lives comes with a God ordained purpose for us and has unique things about it for us to learn from and enjoy that can only be experienced within that season.
The biggest challenge for us, comes with the fact that often girls around us – in the same age or stage of life – can be walking along side us but be in a different season to us. One woman is in a winter season, while the friend alongside us in her spring season. The biggest temptation for us is for us to is to compare the season. It’s easy to get so despondent when you see someone benefitting and enjoying the joys of a spring season, when you’re in the throws of your autumn season. Maybe you’re walking through a season of singleness and someone else is in their season of motherhood. Each season will have its own challenges and its own blessings, let’s not get so busy comparing seasons or wishing away our seasons that you miss the beauty of where you are.
Right now, in whatever season you find yourself there will be challenges and blessings. Grow through the challenges, take time to enjoy the blessings. Don’t get impatient and wish away the season you’re in.
Take heart knowing that there is a time for every season and every one of them is thoughtfully and lovingly ordained by God. He can see the full picture; he knows what you need in this season to prepare you for the one ahead.
And always remember that no matter what season you’re in, God is close. He’ll never leave you nor forsake you. He’s holding your life in the palm of His hand 💕
