We absolutely LOVE our Philippines Mission Campuses, and they just keep on growing! You might not know this – but we now have a total of 7 Churches in the Philippines, including a super recent church plant. Talk about EPIC.
Our Tagum City Campus was the first church started with 20 members by Pastors Fortune and Roselyn in 2014, and this was built on their own family land and now has over 150 members. Pastors Fortune and Roselyn then planted and grew churches in Laak, Monte Vista, Monkayo, Compostela, Maparat and Agusan Del Norte.
In Tagum City, we opened a purpose-built Kids Church building this year (2021). This building was funded by donations from the 2020 Missions offering, and it is looking GOOD!
Until now, children and leaders have been meeting outside under a tree (come wind, sun, rain…) or in the Pastors living room. So, as you can imagine, this brand new dedicated Kids Church building is ground-breaking! Our new facility is already creating fresh ministry opportunities. This new space is such high quality that it really sticks out in the neighbourhood, making a place to outreach and run kids programmes for their community. This campus has soooo many young people in the church (which is fantastic!), so these upcoming leaders can really use this as a platform to step into greater things.
Another exciting thing is that we are sending them design files to match our Kids Church t-shirts that we have in New Zealand. We can’t wait to see our Philippines team rocking these on Sundays!
Our vision is to continue to build these new Children’s facilities in our other Mission Campuses, starting in our the 2nd largest campus in Compostella and outworking it to the others. Let’s go!
COVID has been tough on all of our Mission Campuses, and the Philippines is no different. It’s had an impact on their outreach programmes and day-to-day life. So to hear from these guys and the epic job they are doing is amazing to hear. We can’t wait to see what we can do with our Philippines Campus in the coming year!
