At City Impact Church Hamilton, Kids Church is a fun, welcoming and faith-filled environment where children can learn about God, build friendships and grow in confidence in their faith. Our heart is to create a space where every child feels valued and encouraged as they discover who God is and how His Word applies to their lives.
AGE GROUPS:
Our Kids Church program is designed for children aged 1 year old to 11 years old (School Year 6).
At the moment our groups are smaller, so Under 5s and Over 5s spend time together in the program. This also makes it easier for families with siblings to keep their children in the same space.
We have dedicated team members caring for the younger children, ensuring they have activities and support suited to their age.
WHEN KIDS CHURCH RUNS:
Kids Church runs during the Sunday service, allowing parents to fully engage in the main service while their children are being ministered to in an age-appropriate environment.
WHAT KIDS EXPERIENCE:
Our Kids Church services include many of the same elements as the adult service, helping children feel connected to the life of the church.
Each week children experience:
Worship
Bible stories and teaching
Games and activities
Small group connection
When children arrive, they have time to settle in with activities prepared by the team. This helps them feel comfortable and build connections with other children.
The program begins with some family time, such as celebrating birthdays and connecting as a group. From there we move into praise and worship, followed by the Bible teaching, which may include a video clip or live teaching.
After the lesson, children break into small groups where they participate in activities that reinforce the key biblical principle and help them apply what they have learned to their week ahead. During this time, Under 5s participate in age-appropriate activities designed especially for them.
The session finishes with some play time as parents arrive to pick up their children.
WHAT PARENTS NEED TO KNOW:
When to arrive
Kids Church registration opens from 9:40am.
Where to go on a Sunday
Head to the main entrance of the Childcare Centre, where you will see the Kids Church flag outside the door. Inside the foyer you will find the registration desks where our team will help you sign in your children.
What to bring
Under 5s: Please bring a bag with a spare set of clothing and a water bottle.
Babies: Please provide anything the team may need to care for your child during the service, such as nappies, wipes, a dummy, or a comfort blanket.
Can parents sit in for the first time?
Yes, parents are very welcome to sit in during their child’s first visit. Simply let the room leader know when you arrive and they will provide you with a visitor lanyard so the team knows you are staying with your child.
