At City Impact Church Invercargill, Kids Church is all about helping children learn about God, experience His presence and grow in confidence as they discover all He has for them. Every Sunday morning, we create a safe, welcoming and faith-filled environment where children can belong, build friendships and engage with God in meaningful ways.
Our heart is to see kids love God, love His Word and grow confident in prayer, knowing they are valued and called by Him.
AGE GROUPS:
Under 2s
For children under 2, we have a dedicated parent room located at the back of the auditorium. This space includes:
A baby changing area
Toys for little ones
A TV linked to the live service, so parents don’t miss out
Ages 2 to Year 5
Children aged 2 through to Year 5 attend Kids Church in our dedicated rooms upstairs.
WHEN KIDS CHURCH RUNS:
Sunday Morning Service
From 9:30am, we have pre-service activities upstairs. This is a great time to:
Bring your child up to meet other children
Meet the Kids Church team
Ask any questions you may have
Get familiar with the space
At 10:00am, children are brought downstairs to join the wider church for praise and worship. They can sit with you or join the leaders at the front.
Before the preaching begins, children head back upstairs for their Kids Church program. Parents are welcome to take their child up themselves, or if children are confident and signed in, they can go up with the leaders. Parents are always welcome to stay and help settle their child for as long as needed.
Sunday Night Service (6:00pm)
Night services are different from the morning service. Sunday nights are all about studying the Word of God.
We meet in the café area with Bibles open
Explore Scripture together in an informal setting
Ask questions and discuss God’s Word
Please note: There is no Kids Church at night.
WHERE TO GO ON A SUNDAY
Follow the signage up the stairs from the foyer, or ask any of our team and they will happily show you where to go.
We use a sign in and sign out system for all children and our team will help you with this if it’s your first time.
WHAT KIDS EXPERIENCE:
When children arrive upstairs, they have time to enjoy the space and connect with others. This also gives parents another opportunity to connect with the team and complete sign in.
Each Kids Church session includes:
A group game based around the weekly theme
Small groups divided by age:
Ages 2 to 4
Ages 5 to 7
Ages 8 and over
Teaching a biblical truth in a fun, interactive and age-appropriate way
Prayer together as a group
At the end of the session, parents come upstairs to sign their child out and head back downstairs together.
