City Impact Church
Pastors Joe & Racquel Manase
Pastors Joe and Racquel have been part of City Impact Church for nearly 20 years, serving on the Leadership Team for over a decade. In July 2022, they stepped into the role of Lead Pastors, following Pastors Peter and Bev Mortlock who now serve as Founding Pastors.
They have led in many areas of ministry, including Youth and pioneering our Westgate Location. Married for more than 10 years with four beautiful children, Florence, Sophia, Archer and Poppy.
They are passionate about building God’s Church and seeing people encounter His goodness. Honoured to continue the 40-year legacy of City Impact Church. Joe and Racquel carry a deep vision for this generation. Their heart is that every person would find a place to belong in church and continue growing in their relationship with God.
Our vision is simple and powerful. We believe in seeing souls saved, worshipping and glorifying God and building the body of Christ into unity, maturity and wholeness.
Pastors Peter & Bev Mortlock
In 1982, Pastors Peter and Bev Mortlock pioneered City Impact Church with their family and a handful of people, carrying a vision to reach a nation for Christ. For 40 years they faithfully served as Senior Pastors, building strong churches, helping people encounter Jesus and sparking passion for His Church across nations and generations.
The North Shore Location grew into a vibrant hub with a 2000 seat Sanctuary, School, Childcare Centres, Arts Academy and TV Studios, Most of it built by volunteers. From there City Impact Church expanded into multiple locations and mission-based churches worldwide. Their TV Programme, Impact For Life aired in New Zealand for over a decade.
Through every step, God has been gracious, performing miracle after miracle and continuing to build His Church (Matthew 16:18).
At City Impact Church, we believe in being “large enough to make a difference, yet small enough to care.” Each year, we are honoured to extend the reach of the gospel across New Zealand and beyond, impacting lives in countries such as India, Mexico, the Philippines, Tonga, Thailand, Nepal, India, Tanzania and Fiji. It is truly a privilege to witness the global impact we can make together.
Through our Here to Help and Community Impact initiatives, we can reach out to those in need in our Local communities providing meals, clothes, blankets and home and garden makeovers.
It was written by human authors who were inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the truth. It is eternal and has supernatural power to change lives. It is completely relevant to our daily lives.
Romans 15:4, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Deuteronomy 4:2, Proverbs 30:5, Isaiah 40:8, Psalms 119:89, Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timothy 3:15-17, Psalms 119:11, Psalms 119:105.
He is one God in three Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Each member of the Trinity serves different functions but has equal power and authority.
Matthew 28:19, Mark 1:9-11, Luke 1:35, John 5:21-23, John 14:10, John 14:16, 2 Corinthians 13:14.
He is eternal and co-equal with the Son and Holy Spirit. He is a Spirit Being, eternal, self-existent, unchanging, all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever present. He is perfect holiness, righteousness, love, and faithfulness. He is completely worthy of our trust. It is in Him that we live, move and exist.
John 4:24, Hebrews 9:14, Exodus 3:14, John 5:26, Malachi 3:6, James 1:17, Genesis 17:1, Revelation 19:6, Psalms 147:5, 1 Corinthians 2:10, Psalms 139:7, Leviticus 11:44, 1 Peter 1:16, Romans 1:17, 1 John 4:8, Deuteronomy 7:9, Numbers 23:19, Acts 17:28.
He is eternal, and co-equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Though He is God, He gave up His divine privileges and was born as a human being. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and that He is coming back again.
Matthew 3:17, Matthew 8:29, Matthew 14:33, Matthew 16:16, Luke 22:70, John 1:1-3, John 10:30, Colossians 2:9, Philippians 2:5-11, 1 Timothy 3:16, Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18-23, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Acts 2:22-24, Isaiah 53:4-6, Luke 24:46-47, 2 Corinthians 5:19-20, Galatians 4:4-5, 1 Timothy 2:5-6, Matthew 28:5-6, John 11:25-27, Romans 1:3-4, Acts 1:9-11, 7:55-56.
He is eternal, and co-equal with the Father and the Son. He dwells within believers, revealing the Son and the Father to us, and guiding us into all truth. He exalts Christ and works to bring people to faith in Him. He is our helper. The power of the Holy Spirit within us enables us to witness and to live a righteous life. The fruit and gifts of the Holy Spirit are for the Church today, including divine healing. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is for all believers, with an evidence of speaking in tongues.
Genesis 1:2, Matthew 28:19, John 14:17, 1 Corinthians 3:16, John 16:8, John 3:5-6, John 16:13-14, John 14:16, Romans 8:26-27, Acts 1:8, Romans 8:13, Galatians 5:16, Galatians 5:22-23, 1 Corinthians 12:7-11, Mark 16:17-18, Joel 2:28-29, Acts 2:1-11, 10:44-47, 19:6.
Every human personality is uniquely created, and is worthy of dignity, respect and Christian love. Man was created to be in relationship with God but was separated from God through disobedience. As a result, man cannot attain a right relationship with God through his own effort.
Genesis 1:26-28, Genesis 2:7, Genesis 2:18-22, Psalms 8:3-6, Psalms 139:13-14, Matthew 22:39, Matthew 22:37, Genesis 3:1-6, Romans 1:18-32, Romans 3:10-12, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:6, Romans 7:14-25.
The penalty for sin is eternal death and separation from God. However, God loved us so much that He gave us His only Son, Jesus, to pay the penalty for us through His death on the cross. Because Jesus was sinless, death had no power over Him. He defeated death in His resurrection so that we could have life. He was the only one who could pay the price for the sin of all mankind and restore us to relationship with God. The only way to be cleansed from sin is to repent, put our faith in Jesus and receive God’s forgiveness. This is called being ‘born again’. Salvation is a gift from God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts.
Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, John 3:16-18, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 2:14, 1 Corinthians 15:54-56, Isaiah 53:5-6, 2 Corinthians 5:17-18, 1 Peter 1:18-19, Isaiah 55:7, John 1:12, John 5:24, Acts 2:21, Acts 4:12, Acts 16:30-31, Revelation 3:20, John 3:3, Isaiah 1:18, Romans 5:8-10, Ephesians 2:8-10.
Christ is coming again and those who have put their faith in God will live with God forever in heaven. Hell was intended for Satan and his fallen angels. However, those who do not repent of sin and receive salvation in this life will be eternally separated from God in hell.
1 Corinthians 15:42, John 3:16, John 11:25, John 14:1-3, Acts 1:10-11, Romans 6:23, 1 John 2:25, 1 John 5:11-13, Revelation 20:11-15.
Jesus established the Church to be His vehicle to continue the work that He started here on earth. The Bible describes the Church as the Body of Christ. We have a contemporary style and maintain a conservative theological position. We believe in baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit for all believers. We believe in participating in Communion together. We believe all that the Bible teaches and seek to live faithful, fruitful and fervent Christian lives. Our mission is to see souls saved, to grow people into unity, maturity and wholeness and to worship and glorify God.
Acts 2:42-47, Ephesians 4:11-13, Matthew 16:18-19, John 14:12, Ephesians 3:10-12, 1 Corinthians 12:27-28, Colossians 1:18, Matthew 28:19, Matthew 26:26-28, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26.
