WELCOME TO OUR CHRISTMAS BAGS GIVING INITIATIVE

We’re so excited to launch this year’s Christmas Bags initiative, a special way to spread love and joy this Christmas season to individuals and families that need a little extra love in our community.

Donors gift a bag by choosing a participant based on age and gender, then fill their bag with thoughtful, hand-picked gifts. It’s a meaningful way to make someone’s Christmas a little brighter and remind them that they are seen, valued, and loved.

Last year, thanks to the generosity of Southlander’s, we worked with 11 local kindergartens, schools and social services and support agencies to donate over 500 bags.

Join us again this year in bringing the heart of Christmas to life; one bag, one person, one act of kindness at a time.

We Need You
There are two ways you can get involved:

1. Choose a Recipient & Fill a Bag
Be part of the joy by selecting a participant (or a few!) to bless this Christmas. 
Here’s how it works:

  1. Select Your Gift Recipient – Choose an age and gender from our list of recipients. 
  2. Receive instructions by email –Once you’ve registered, we’ll send you all the details you need by email, including drop-off dates and gift ideas.
  3. Shop & Fill Your Bag – Purchase thoughtful, age-appropriate gifts that your recipient can unwrap and enjoy on Christmas Day. (Don’t worry about wrapping the gifts we have a nice bag we will put them in for each recipient)
  4. Deliver Your Gift Bag – Bring your completed bag to our Invercargill Campus by 30th of November during designated times so we can ensure it reaches your recipient in time.

If you’re unsure of what to buy and would prefer to make a monetary contribution instead of shopping for gifts, you can also donate directly. Our team will shop on your behalf using your donation, ensuring every dollar goes towards helping someone have a wonderful Christmas. Simply click here to contribute. 

2. Help On The Day
We’ll also need helping hands to organise, sort, and hand out the Christmas Bags at our local Christmas party.  Whether you love wrapping presents, packing bags, or lending a smile on distribution day, there’s a place for you!
