Statement from City Impact Church regarding 2020 COVID wage subsidies

City Impact Church is an employer with a large number of staff employed across multiple church locations, including City Impact Church School and several Childcare Centres. City Impact Church (including its education activities) met all the subsidy requirements as an employer. City Impact Church is a responsible employer and complies with all tax laws and its results are audited, as required. Staff are paid salaries and pay their PAYE tax so are entitled to the same taxpayer assistance as any other employee whose employer was impacted by COVID. The subsidies were paid to staff in good faith which allowed City Impact Church to care for our staff during a difficult time. City Impact Church has not to date had to apply for any subsequent wage subsidies after 2020.
