There are City Impact Church Campuses across New Zealand which come in all shapes and sizes from our expansive North Shore Campus accommodating up to 2,000 people, to smaller congregations in towns like Balclutha. Some campuses meet in cinemas and our gatherings can meet anywhere from homes to Community Centre’s with an emphasis on feeling like a family. Everyone is welcome!
In Christchurch, we gather weekly at 10am at the Pegasus Community Centre. City Impact Church offers a friendly and down-to-earth community, powerful worship, anointing for breakthrough, and faith which is built and stirred up through the passionate preaching and teaching of the Bible. A City Impact Church Gathering is fun, full of life and laughter, and infectious hope of the future.

Ps Peter & Bev Mortlock and Ps Joe & Racquel Manase
In 2022, 40 years after pioneering City Impact Church, Founding Pastors Peter and Bev Mortlock ordained Joe and Racquel Manase into the new roles of Lead Pastors. The team is excited to build from ‘generation to generation’ with a vision to see every person encounter God, find their home in Church and experience the goodness of God.

Josh and Liv are our Gathering Campus Pastors. Josh is also a production legend! He has his hand in all things creative. Liv has a heart for people to practically experience the truth of the gospel so they can grow closer to Jesus and live lives of freedom.

An official City Impact Church Gathering is the first phase of planting a new City Impact Church Campus.
Here’s some of the backstory. When we started our online campus during COVID we realized fairly quickly that there were people connecting to City Impact Church online from different parts of NZ and even around the world – and we noticed often there would be people connecting individually but they actually lived nearby! And we thought: Connecting to an online service is cool – but even better is worshipping together and gathering together because we are BETTER TOGETHER. That’s the heart of Gatherings. It’s bringing people together to worship God and hear the word and connect and do life together.
This idea has developed really into planting new churches, which is a huge part of the mission we feel God is calling us to right now.
Great question. Our Gatherings have amazing local leaders on the ground who organise and host the service and are available to pray for people who would like prayer after the service. These leaders and the Gatherings themselves are overseen by our Online Campus Pastors Josh and Liv who are the leadership and pastoral oversight and who attend each Gathering once a month.
We also have National City Impact Elders who oversee all our Campuses and Gatherings.
In time as the Gathering grows, we appoint Campus Pastors who will then be in charge of shepherding the church.
What we can offer is a wonderful Sunday morning service where you will experience the presence of God in Holy Spirit led worship. A wonderful message that brings powerful truths from the Word of God. Sometimes this will be via a live video link – sometimes this will be via an in-the-flesh preacher.
We offer a great Kids Church where your kids can have fun and learn about God in an interactive way. We can offer Hubs which is our way of saying small groups for life connection and relationship. And we can offer community outreach opportunities because we believe a church family should be large enough to make a difference in its community. And also, small enough to care about every person.
An mentioned Gatherings are a group of people joining together to watch the online service lead by a Gathering Host with a live preacher once a month. Once a Gatherings becomes a Campus there are appointed Campus Pastors who then work to grow the church so that it can offer things like youth, live worship, live preaching and other great aspects of church community.
