17 Days of Prayer – Day 13

In New Zealand, the number of children in foster care has risen to over 6000, and sadly 1 child dies every 5 weeks as a result of family violence. Immerse, a foster care agency led by George and Ursula, is helping to transform foster care in NZ and provides a foster care service, immersive living arrangements and support for the children and families involved in foster care. Since 2019, Immerse has trained over 625 families, foster parents and professionals in specialised trauma-responsive care. Over 200 days have been given to Ingage, a therapeutic programme, and up to 95 foster homes have been providing immersive living arrangements for children at risk.

Today we are praying for:

• Immerse – for health, strength, covering and protection for George and Ursula, and their team.
• Wisdom and peace for strategic decisions to best meet the needs of these children.
• A successful global launch of a Parenting App in late August 2023
• Financial provision to reach more children and families through Immerse.
• Greater impact in the fostering sector of New Zealand
• Healing for the foster children who have suffered trauma.
• More opportunities to coach parents raising kids who have trauma.
• More foster parents
