21 Days of Prayer

Prayer changes things. Corporate Prayer is powerful. In Matthew 18 Jesus saysAgain, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” We are a church that believes in prayer and this heart is carried by our Mission Pastors in India, Pastors Frank and Gladys. At the beginning of every year they bring people of their communities together for the annual 21 Days of Early Morning Prayer Campaign.

The purpose of this campaign is to nourish the people physically by giving them meals but in particular to nourish them spiritually and to pray together for breakthrough. There are two things that stand out to me the most about this.  The magnitude of the practical help that is given to the people and the generosity of Pastors Frank and Gladys.

In the 21 days, over 7000 meals were given out to the community. Feeding the poorest of the poor and those whose incomes had been badly affected by COVID. Every meal is a seed planted and is the outworking love of Christ. It is more than a meal, it is the prayer and the faith behind the meal; the beating heart of City Impact Church. That is us, we are part of this because of our missions outreach. Every year the need is growing and every year through the grace of God, all that come are able to be fed – it reminds you of the loaves and the fishes?

Pastor Frank not only brings the people together, but covers the cost to make sure people that need to come are able to come. This includes paying for and hosting hundreds of people. Some people travel on the train for two hours, for the duration of the 21 days. Those that needed breakthrough were able to come, those that needed nourishment both physically and spiritually were able to receive. The countless testimonies of people receiving jobs when it looked impossible, is why we give and is what we City Impact Church are a part of. But this is just the beginning!
