QUEENSTOWN WORKING BEE
Friday 12th March 2010

Last Saturday 6th March, City Impact Church Queenstown held a working bee at the church.

With the usual beautiful sunshine down south, the working bee started off with a bang at 9am with enthusiastic volunteers waiting at the door to start!

The vast array of jobs varied from the pond being cleaned and debugged, to amazing ply creations being made, toys being repaired, painting, landscaping, building work and spring cleaning being done everywhere.

The church as well as the childcare centre was soon glistening in the sun! The highlight of the day of course was the scrummy barbeque that was put on for the volunteers that came out to help.

Well done and thank you for giving up your Saturday to come and clean the house of God.

INVERCARGILL'S COMMUNITY DAY
Wednesday 10th March 2010

Last Saturday a team of 25 volunteers from City Impact Church Invercargill headed down to a local kindergarten to assist in sprucing up their outside playgrounds.

The team helped to achieve so much, shifting truck loads of sand into sandpits, assisting in creating a garden as well as weeding another, and many other jobs.

The team then supplied morning tea for the volunteers and parents from the kindergarten.  It was a great opportunity to work alongside these parents in the Invercargill community, sowing seeds into their lives.

Thanks to everyone in the church who came out for the day.

KID'S CHURCH SLEEP OVER
Monday 1st March 2010

Last Friday 27th February, our very own Kids Church here in Auckland put together a night filled with fun and laughter for all our children at a big sleep over.

With over one hundred kids over for the night, they kicked it off with yummy pizza for dinner. Next was a talent quest with some of the children showing there prowess in dance, drama, gymnastics and singing. To top the night off there was a massive pillow fight before lights out.

For breakfast the next day, they served up some pancakes alongside the best cereals you could offer.

The kids, as well as their awesome leaders, had an amazing time. Thanks to all those who helped out.

NORTH HARBOUR HOCKEY PLAYERS COME TO SCHOOL
Thursday 25th February 2010

On Tuesday morning, City Impact School had representatives from North Harbour Hockey come to promote the game to the students in both Teacher Bev & Teacher Taryn’s classes.

The children had an awesome time watching the skills of the players and also had an opportunity to participate in learning some new skills.
Even the teachers were put to the challenge, which the children thoroughly enjoyed watching!

We just want to give a big thank you to Rachel Ironside for organising this event, and also to North Harbour Hockey. The kids were blessed!

RED RAIN

Monday 22nd February 2010

On Sunday 21st February City Impact Church Auckland had an amazing band, Red Rain take the worship for their Sunday evening service.

Red Rain is from our very own Tauranga here in New Zealand, lead by front-man Michael Turner. They travel for eight months of the year all over the word, their time with us being on the end of a tour throughout Asia, Europe and the United States.

It was such a huge privilege having them here, not only for our Sunday night service, but also with our Youth on Friday night, who were touched and inspired by their ministry.

What an awesome weekend!

Everyone headed down to the river and groups were encouraged to build the best rafts and to test it in a race against time.

The youth spent Friday night building their raft, with the help from our awesome Pastor Beven - Perks that he’s a builder too.

Then Saturday morning they took the raft to the river to see if it floated for the race.
The race began and City Impact Youth paddled for 2 ¼ hours and all to come 3rd!

Well Done City Impact Balclutha!
